The Hokun Trust was set up in 2009 to promote the study and practice of the Buddha’s teachings. The work of the charity has a strong emphasis on the practical application of the teachings in everyday life and aims to make the teachings open to all seekers. The term Hokun includes two Japanese characters, Ho for Dharma, the Buddha’s teachings, and Kun for fragrance. The
charity supports all Schools of Buddhism, in particular that of the
Rinzai Zen School and is working in close collaboration with the
Buddhist Society and the Zen Centre.
